    Come What May {Full}
    By Aragorn

I posted this story around this time last year, only now it's more edited and there's a couple added scenes in. It plays out much like Moulin Rouge in terms of songs and things like that (I use songs that are already made, only in some cases some of the words are switched around)

This is also writtin pretty badly, cause even though I didn't post it until this time last year, I wrote it a long time ago. Also, another factor that contributes to this, is at first, I never wrote this, intending for others to read it. I wrote this as kind of a collection of memories.
Most of the character names are changed around, but they'll still have the same initals as the people they're based off of.

First, I'll post the trailer, then I'll post the story. Please tell me what you think in the comments section, and if you give critisim, give constructive critisim.

    Trailer:

The techno version of COME WHAT MAY from the Moulin Rouge DVD starts to play on a black screen. Suddenly the screen opens to show a school. MacDonald Drive.
Inside the school kids are walking around.

    JACOB
Never knew I could feel like this

Jacob is on top of a wooden structure, looking down at Robyn and Shane, who are kissing.

    JACOB
Like I've never seen the sky before.

Jacob is looking at the night sky from his window.

    JACOB
I want to vanish inside your kiss

Jacob is walking around with his friends and Robyn and her friends are walking the other way and as they pass by, their eyes meet.

    JACOB
Every day I love more and more

During the next bunch of lines, the following scenes are shown:
Jacob talking on the phone. Jacob running and ramming into a tall kid that was picking on Robyn. Shane helping Robyn up, after having fallen down, just as Jacob was about to.

    JACOB
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring

Snow melts and leaves rapidly grow on trees and grass grows.
Jacob gets ice cream on Robyn’s nose and they brake out laughing.

    JACOB
    But I love you
    until the end of time
    Come what may
    Come what may
    I will love you
    until my dying day

    ROBYN
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace

Robyn and Jacob are walking hand in hand down a road.

    BOTH
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste

Jacob is crying out in pain and clutching his stomach. His parents run in, scared.

    ROBYN
    It all revolves around you

During the next bunch of lines, the following is shown:
Jacob and his friends running through a hall, books being thrown and a teacher after them. They’re laughing.
Jacob and his friends, along with a lot of other people, run over a grassy field to where another large group of people are, who then also run towards Jacob and his group, both groups crying out a battle cry.
Jacob on a boat, tears in his eyes as it’s leaving.

    BOTH
And there's no mountain too high
    No river too wide
Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side
    Storm clouds may gather
    And stars may collide

    JACOB
But I love you (I love you)until the end of time

    BOTH
    Come what may
    Come what may
    I will love you
    until my dying day

For the last bit of the song, we see Jacob in a Nurses office, an ice pack on his arm. Robyn pushing Jacob in a pond.
A small group of people chasing after Jacob, Robyn, and their friends.
Jacob being swung by a tall person, into a wall, and getting his shirt ripped.

    BOTH
    Oh, come what may,
    come what may
    I will love you,

    JACOB
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place

    BOTH
    Come what may
    Come what may
    I will love you
    until my dying day.

As the song ends, a coin is tossed into the ocean and we follow it down, and the way the sun shines on it makes it look like it’s winking at us.

    “COME WHAT MAY
    BASED ON A TRUE STORY
    COMING SOON”

    The story:

    COME WHAT MAY
    By JEFF LONG
    Based on a true story

“I have a story to tell you. One of romance, action, drama, comedy, and above all, love, and how no matter how much of it you have, bad things can still happen. This story is also about school life, but mainly, about how all good things must eventually come to an end.
I remember the events that took place in my third year of Junior High. I was in Grade 8 then, and I remember them as if it happened yesterday. I tell you this story, in hopes that you may be able to stop yourself before the same thing happens to you.
If you cry during sad movies, then I warn you that this is a very sad story. For the ending is one of the saddest I’ve witnessed. The diffrence between the ending of the story I’m about to tell you and the ending of movies, is that this one is true…”

    St. John’s, Newfoundland, 1999

The yellow school bus pulled up to a stop in front of the school and the doors squeaked open. It was a cold day, around the middle of February. Snow lightly covered the ground, but grass could still be seen in places.
As students got off the bus, their breaths could be seen in the cold air.
Among these people, were Robyn Hamsel, 13, in Grade 7, and Rick Munter, 14, and in Grade 8. Robyn and Rick were both good friends and had been for a long time.
They walked, with the rest of the kids, through the thick metal doors, then through the porch marked with muddy and wet shoeprints, then through the second set of doors and into their school, MacDonald Drive Junior High.
Once inside the school, they went separate ways, in the busy halls, going towards their lockers.
Rick got to his locker and started to turn his lock, making the combination to open his locker. Soon enough, his friend, Jacob LaChance, walked up to his locker, which was right next to Rick’s.
“Hey.” Rick greeted. “What do we have first?” He started emptying out his bookbag as he waited for Jacob.
“Hang on.” Jacob took his sunglasses off and put them in his inside pocket of his jean jacket. He then proceeded to open his locker and looked at the schedule which was on the inside of his locker door. “What day is it?”
    “Tuesday.”
    “No! I mean, what Day!”
    “Oh. Day Four.”
“Ok, let’s see...” Jacob looked at his schedule. “We have Math first.”
“Damn.” Rick kicked his locker lightly. They both pulled out their Math books and placed them inside their bookbags. “Valentines Day is tomorrow.” Rick said as they closed and locked their lockers. “Have anyone special in mind?”
“No.” Jacob lied as they turned and walked away. Secretly he liked Robyn, but barley hung out with her because she was a grade below him and the only reason he hung out with her once in awhile was that she sometimes hung out with Rick and another couple of his friends.
Rick and Robyn lived in the same small town about 20 minutes outside St. John’s, called Portugal Cove, which was really close to the Ferry going over to Bell Island. Rick and Robyn practically grew up together, so they were good friends, but not as close as you might think.
Jacob couldn’t go out with Robyn even if he gathered up enough guts to ask her out, because Robyn was going out with a guy named Shane, who was in the same grade she was.
They reached one of the stair cases and started to walk up, when they were met by Justin, one of their friends, who was going down the stairs.
“Hey.” Justin greeted. “You guys going to the Pond at lunch?” A group of students usuily go across the street at Lunch to a pond with a walking trail around it. There’s also a wooden structure there, known as a Kazebo. It has a short wall, about half the size of an average person. Inside it was a circular bench, attached to the wall. On top of the wall, were four struts, holding a flat roof up.
Also, on the other side of the pond, and on the other side of a short, grassy field, was another school, Mary Queen of Peace Junior High. But we'll save that for a little later in the story.
    “I am. Rick answered.
    “No. I’m not.” Jacob declined.
“Why not?” Justin asked. “All you do anyway is walk around the halls when you’re done eating.”
“So? I just don’t want to go.”
“Ok. Suit yourself. See ya guys later.” Justin continued on down as Rick and Jacob continued up.

Rick and Jacob got to their Math room and their teacher, Mr. Park, was sitting at his desk, marking tests. There were a few other kids in the classroom, but the bell hadn’t gone yet, so the entire class wasn’t there.
“Hello, Mr. Park.” Rick and Jacob greeted as they walked in and took their seats.
    “Hello.”
They took their Math books out and then Jacob took a novel out and started to read it, waiting for the bell to ring to start classes.

Once Math ended, the class started making their way to their lockers to get their books for their next class, which was Options. Jacob, Rick, and a few others had Industrial Arts, so they went directly to the I.A. room, because they didn’t need any books for it.
As they approached the door, it opened and the Grade 7 class that was in there before them, started leaving. Among these people were Robyn and Shane, who had his arm around her. Along with them, were Robyn’s friends, Megan, who had glasses and curly hair, and Joleen, who dressed in dark colours and had black hair. Rick and Jacob often called Joleen a vampire, because of her dark colours she always wore, and her outcast personality.
“Hi.” Robyn said to Rick as they walked by.
“Hi.” Rick said. As they walked inside the room, Jacob looked back at Robyn as her and her friends went around the corner.

At lunch, Rick met up with Justin and their friend known only by his nickname of Weasel, as well as Robyn, Shane, Joleen, and Megan.
Weasel was a friend of Justin's, but no one ever called him by his real name, because he closely resembled a Weasel, so that’s what everyone called him.
They were leaving the school when Jacob walked by and saw that Robyn was with them. “Hey, wait up!” He called out. “I’m coming too!” The others stopped and waited for Jacob to catch up and once he had, they all left the school, walked across the soccer field, and waited at the busy street.
Megan went over and pushed a button on a pole and they waited some more. After a couple seconds, the green lights above the traffic turned to red and a cross walk sign lit up with a person walking, indicating for the kids to cross.
They did so and when they got to the other side, they walked down to the walking trail and started walking around the pond until they got to the Kazebo.
They sat on the bench and took their food out and started eating. The day had warmed up since the morning and the little snow that was there, was starting to melt and the sun shone brightly in the kids’s eyes.
When they were done eating, Justin, Jacob, Weasel, Joleen, and Rick climbed up onto the roof and took turns running and jumping off, onto the ground below, landing on a soft spot with tall grass, which still had tall grass growing, even though it was winter.
As Jacob stood, waiting for his turn to jump, he looked down through the spaces between the boards of wood and saw Megan, Robyn and Shane sitting on the bench, watching them jump off. He also saw that Shane had his arm around Robyn’s shoulders and she was cuddling up next to him.
Then Joleen, who had just jumped off, and Megan, who stood up and walked towards Joleen, turned back to the others. “We’re going to the Dollar store before Lunch ends.” Joleen informed them.
“Ok, meet you guys back at school.” Robyn said as they walked away.

Back up on top of the Kazebo, Jacob looked back down and saw Robyn and Shane kissing and he felt his heart sink and a pang of jealousy.

    *Start of #1 CRUSH.*

    JACOB
(Looking down at them, but eyeing Robyn)
    I would die for you,
I've been dying just to feel you by my side, to know that you're mine.
    I would cry for you,
I will wash away your pain with all my tears, and drown your fear.

Suddenly, Jacob was in his bedroom at night, and all is dark. He was kneeling in the middle of his floor, a beam of moonlight shining on him. He had his hands folded and he was looking up at the ceiling.

    JACOB
    I will pray for you,
    I will pray for you,
I would sell my soul for some thing pure and true, someone like you.
See your face every place that I walk in,
Hear your voice every time I’m talking.
    You will believe in me,
And I will never be ignored.

Jacob was suddenly in a black space, all by himself and he does everything that he sings about next.

    JACOB
    I would burn for you,
    Feel pain for you,
I will twist the knife and bleed my aching heart,
    And tear it apart.

Jacob was then in the streets in rags and he was in front of a store, begging.

    JACOB
    I would lie for you,
    Beg and steal for you,
I would crawl on hands and knees until you see,
    You're just like me.

As Jacob finishes the song, he slowly snaps back to reality.

    JACOB
Violate all my love that I'm missing,
Throw away all the pain that I'm living.
    You will believe in me,
And I can never be ignored.
    I believe in you,
    I would die for you.

“Hurry up, jump!” Rick shouted. It was Jacob’s turn, but Jacob hadn’t heard, for he was looking down at Robyn and Shane, in his own little world.
“Ah hell!” Justin sighed. He ran and pushed Jacob off the edge.

“I’m really sorry!” Justin apologized, sitting next to Jacob in the Nurse’s Office of their school, an ice pack on Jacob’s arm. Jacob just glared back at him. “What? I am! Who could have guessed you would have missed the grass? Nobody has ever misses the grass! Then again, everyone has always jumped off and not been pushed.”
The others that were at the Kazebo all sat around in the room as well, when suddenly the bell rang.
“See ya after class.” Rick said as they all stood up and started to leave.
“Take care, man.” Shane said as he left. Once they all left, Robyn was the last to leave. She was just about to leave, when she turned back and smiled. “Hope you feel better
soon.” She turned and left, leaving Jacob there all alone. He just sat there, thinking, then a big smile crossed his face.

    *Start of I FEEL GOOD*

Jacob suddenly jumped up and threw his ice pack down.

    JACOB
Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would I feel good, I knew that I would
So good, so good, I got you.

Suddenly the Nurse walked in and her eyes went wide as she saw Jacob dancing around, but before she knew it, Jacob was dancing with her!

    JACOB
Whoa! I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you

Suddenly he spun the Nurse into his arms.

    JACOB
When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can do no wrong
and when I hold you in my arms
My love won't do you no harm
and I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you
When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can't do no wrong
and when I hold you in my arms
My love can't do me no harm

Suddenly he spun the Nurse out of his arms and she went flying into the wall and got knocked out.

    JACOB
Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would
I feel good, I knew that I would
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
    Hey! Oh yeah...

He stopped singing and looked at the Nurse on the floor. “Oops.” he turned and quickly left.
The Nurse slowly opened her eyes and sang slowly in a dazed vice.

    NURSE
I feel good, I knew that I would.

Then she plopped down and fainted.

After school, Jacob was walking down the sidewalk, heading towards the bus stop. Justin was already there, waiting for the bus. “So, how’s your arm?” Justin asked.
“The Nurse said that it was only lightly sprained.” Jacob answered. Suddenly the Metro Bus (City Bus) pulled up and once people got off, Justin and Jacob got on, showed their bus passes, and found a seat as the bus started up again.

The next day was Valentines Day. It was a custom at McDonald Drive Junior High that on Valentines Day, when classes weren’t going on, (Lunch, before school, and recesses) that in the morning, girls had a paper heart on their shirt, and they weren’t allowed to talk to the guys. If they did, the person they talked to, got their heart. It was the same in the afternoon, only it was with the boys.
At the end of the day, there’d be two winners for whoever got the most hearts. There’d be a male winner and a female winner and they’d get a prize.
Jacob and Justin walked inside the school and saw a couple of girls from their grade. “Hi. How are you! Hi! Hi! Hi!” They kept repeating, in hopes of annoying them into giving them their hearts.
The girls smiled, trying not to laugh, as they walked away.
“There’s Rick!” Jacob pointed. They stayed in their spot as Rick got to them, and then they all started walking together.
    “How’s your arm?” Rick asked.
“It’s doing better.” Jacob answered. Then they saw Robyn and Shane walking in the opposite direction.
As they passed by each other, Robyn turned to them and started to giggle and smile. “I gave my heart to Shane already!” And they continued walking.
As Jacob, Justin, and Rick continued walking, Jacob said, in a high-pitched mocking voice, “I already gave my heart to Shane!”
Justin started to smile. “Ohhh! I know who you like!”
“No! It’s just that...” Jacob thought for a second. “She’s so annoying!”
Rick also began to smile. “I’m going to tell her that you like her!”
    “No! Don’t! Please!”
Justin and Rick laughed as the three of them walked down the hall.

At Lunch, the Heart Thing changed over to the boys, and Rick, Justin, Jacob, and Weasel were sitting together in the Cafeteria. They were eating and talking, when Rick suddenly turned and held up his fingers to make a cross.
“It’s a vampire!” He shouted. Then he started hissing at her.
“Shut up, Rick!” Joleen yelled as her, Megan, and Robyn walked up. Megan looked down and saw Rick still hissing and still making the cross symbol with his fingers, in front of Joleen. She shook her head.
“Where’s Shane?” Jacob asked Rick. Rick was able to talk to the girls because he already lost his heart.
“Where’s Shane?” Rick reapeted to Robyn.
    “He’s at his locker.”
Joleen passed by Rick, who still had his fingers up, and went to Weasel. “Hey, what are you eating?”
“Soup.” Then he added. “Crap.” He took his heart off and handed it over to a smiling Joline.
Robyn walked over to Justin. “Hey Justin.”
    Justin just shook his head.
“Fine then.” Robyn turned to Jacob. “Hey Jacob.” Jacob just shook his head as well. Suddenly Robyn reached inside her bookbag and pulled out a really long Toblerone bar. When she lowered it down in front of Jacob, his eyes went wide.
“If you give me you’re heart, you can have this.” Robyn said.
“Ah, screw this!” Jacob ripped his heart off his shirt and gave it to Robyn as he snatched the bar from her and ripped it open, starting to eat it.
“Thank-you!” The girls turned and left.
Jacob looked up and saw the others looking at him. “What?”

In the afternoon recess, Jacob and Rick were walking around, heading for their next class. While they were, Jacob felt someone tapping on his shoulder and when he turned around, a kid litterly barked in his face, turned, started laughing, and ran away.
Jacob and Rick shrugged it off as they continued walking, but soon enough, they felt a tap on their shoulders again and when they whipped around, a whole group of people were there, barking. Jacob counted about five, but there might have been more, and two of them were bigger then they were.
Jacob and Rick decided to ignore them, and continued walking some more, but then they were tapped on again. Instead of turning around though, they started singing.

*Start of WHO LET THE DOGS OUT*

    JACOB AND RICK
    Who let the dogs out?

    TAPPERS
    woof, woof, woof, woof, woof.

    JACOB AND RICK

She really want to skip town

In the background, the Tappers were barking as well.

    JACOB AND RICK
    I'm gonna tell

    JACOB AND RICK

And I can't seek a lot, any canine will do
I'm figurin' that's why they call me faithful
'Cause I'm the man of the land
When they see me they do ah-ooooo

    JACOB AND RICK
(this time Mr. Park sang with them.)
    Who let the dogs out

    TAPPERS
    woof, woof, woof, woof

    JACOB, RICK, AND MR. PARK
    Who let the dogs out

    TAPPERS
    woof, woof, woof, woof

When they stopped singing, the bell rang and they rushed off to class.

After school, Jacob was at his locker and he looked down the row and saw Robyn at her locker and saw a short kid, Robert Peirce, hitting on her and saw her laughing. Then Jacob saw Shane starting to walk down the hall and he noticed that once Robert saw him coming, he turned and left.
Shane reached Robyn and smiled. That’s when Jacob saw that Shane was holding a white teddy bear behind his back, with a heart on it’s chest. Jacob saw Shane give it to Robyn and saw Robyn’s face light up and hug and kiss Shane.
Jacob slammed his locker shut and stormed away.

The next morning, Jacob got to the school and on his way to his class, he heard singing getting closer. Part way through the song, he saw who was singing as they walked around the corner.

*Start of BAD TO THE BONE*

    TAPPERS
On the day we were born, the nurses all gathered 'round
And they gazed in wide wonder, at the joy they had found
The head nurse spoke up, and she said leave this bunch alone
She could tell right away, that we were bad to the bone
    Bad to the bone
    Bad to the bone
    B-B-B-B-Bad to the bone
    B-B-B-B-Bad
    B-B-B-B-Bad
    Bad to the bone

We broke a thousand hearts before
We'll break a thousand more, before we are through
we wanna re-arrange your face, yours and yours alone
We're here to tell ya, that we're bad to the bone
    Bad to the bone
    B-B-B-BadB-B-B-Bad
    B-B-B-Bad
    Bad to the bone

As they walked down the hall, they pushed kids, tapped on their shoulders, and barked in their faces.

    TAPPERS
We make rich women beg, we'll make good women steal
We'll make old women blush, and make young women squeal.

As they passed by a group of girls, they screamed.

    TAPPERS
We wanna re-arrange you’re face, yours and yours alone
We’re here to tell ya, that we're bad to the bone
    B-B-B-B-Bad
    B-B-B-B-Bad
    B-B-B-B-Bad
    Bad to the bone.

The singing got quiet as they got futher away down the hall. Jacob looked at the other people in the hall and quickly rushed to class.

Once Jacob got to his first class which was French, he saw Rick already sitting down. “Looks like the Tappers are getting more bold.” Jacob said as he took his seat next to Rick. “They’re starting to pick on evreyone. The only people who might stand a chance against them are the people who go to the smoking area, but the Tappers havn’t done anything to them, so they wouldn’t fight them.”
“It’ll die off.” Rick said. “Always does. Just give it time.”
    “Yeah, you’re right.”

At Lunch, the usual bunch went back to the Kazebo and had lunch. When the people were up on the top, jumping off, Weasel turned and saw the doors to the other school open, being the start of their lunch, and a ton of kids their age walking out. Then he saw a group of them brake off from the rest and started heading in their direction.
“Ah, guys. We’re going to be having company!” The others looked back and saw them coming.
“Ah crap.” Justin sighed. the people from MQP thought they owned the pond and evrything around it, so they hated it when other kids were around it.
“Let’s get out of here.” Shane suggested.
“Why?” Joleen asked. “I’m ready to fight them. Just let me throw one punch!”
Weasel, Justin, and Jacob jumped off the roof and with the others, they quickly gathered up their stuff and started walking away. Megan suddenly turned back and saw Joline was staying put. She ran back to her.
    “Come on.”
“Just one punch!” Joline yelled. Megan looked up and saw the kids now running in their direction and getting really close. She saw them pick up rocks as they ran towards them.
“Let’s get out of here.” Megan and Joleen turned and ran, catching up to the others, who were walking.
    “Run!” Megan shouted.
The others turned back and saw the group of kids running towards them with rocks in their hands. They turned back around and started running.
After a minute, they turned to their side and ran to the road. It was just their luck that no cars were coming, so they crossed, and before the MQP (Mary Queen of Peace) kids could cross, cars had reached the area and it was busy again.
From their side of the road, Jacob and the others started yelling out insults, and the MQP kids turned and walked away, dropping their rocks to the ground.
“Come on. Let’s get back to school.” Rick suggested. They turned and walked back to their school.”

Once they got back at school, Shane and Robyn hugged and kissed, and again, Jacob felt his heart sink, knowing in his heart that he’d never be able to go out with Robyn.

That night, Jacob was in his room, looking out his window, at the stars.

    *Start of KISSING YOU*

As Kissing You started up, a montage of scenes started playing. They play through the entire song:

Jacob is looking up at the stars.

    JACOB
Pride can stand a thousand trials,
    The strong will never fall,
    But watching stars without you,
    My soul cried.

The snow is melting and grass is starting to grow.
Shane and Robyn kissing, cuddling, playing around, rough housing, but laughing at the same time.
Jacob watching them, while still singing, Rick and Justin trying to talk to him to get his attention, but he’s ignoring them.
They all go to the Kazebo, but Shane isn’t there, and they get chased off by MQP. Robyn trips and falls, and Jacob starts to go back for her, but Shane suddenly comes from nowhere and helps her up. Jacob is pulled along by Joleen.

    JACOB
Heaving heart is full of pain, oh, oh, the aching.
'Cause I want to kiiss you, oh.
I want to kiss you, oh.
Touch me deep, pure and true,
    Gift to me forever
'Cause I want to kiss you, oh.
I want to kiss you, oh.

Flowers are starting to bloom and leaves are starting to grow on the trees.
Robyn and Shane are kissing again, and again, Jacob is watching, while singing, and Justin is trying to get his attention.
Jacob is outside, in the rain, and he’s passing by a store. He looks inside and sees Robyn and Shane holding hands, walking through the mini-mall.
Robyn and Shane are yelling, Robyn storming off, Shane trying to follow her, but realizes it’s useless.
Shane is trying to talk to Joleen and Megan, but they turn away from him and follow after Robyn.
Jacob is back in his bedroom, looking up at the stars as he finishes.

    JACOB
    Where are you now?
    Where are you now?
'Cause I want to kiss you.
I want to kiss you, oh.

Jacob sighed as he closed the blinds and turned away from the window.
Jacob and Justin walked up to the school from the bus stop in the morning, grass, flowers, and trees with leaves on them were out.
They walked inside and started going down the hall, when suddenly, Justin felt someone tap him and he turned around and was met by a bark that came from one of the Tappers. During the last month, a rumor had started that the Tappers orignaly went to Mary Queen of Peace, the school on the other side of the road, and transfered to MacDonald Drive, just to cause trouble and make MQP a better school by ruining this one.
Justin ignored them and so did Jacob as they continued on.
“I’m going to beat the crap out of one of them soon, I can feel it.” Jacob whispered as they walked. Rick caught up to them and started walking with them.
    “Did you hear?” Rick asked.
    “No what?” Justin asked.
“Roberta and Shane broke up! No one saw it comming either!” As Rick said this, Jacob’s eyes lit up.
“Why’d they brake up?” He asked, trying to sound casual, but it was hard to hide his excitement.
“I don’t know and she won’t say. The only other people who know is Shane, Joleen, and Megan.”
Soon enough, Robyn walked past them, a sad look on her face. “Hey, Robyn.” Justin said. “I just heard about you and Shane. I’m really sorry.”
The excitement in Jacob left when he saw Robyn hug Justin. “Thank-you.” She said, hugging Justin and wiping a tear from her eyes. She sniffled her nose and walked away.
“Thinking about asking her out?” Rick asked Justin as they walked.
“Yeah.” Justin said. “But first I’m going to wait to see if she likes me.” Justin looked down a side hall. “Well catch you guys later.” He turned and walked down another hall.
“Oh Jacob, you’re coming to my house tonight, right?” Rick asked as they continued walking down their hall.
    “Yeah.”
“Good. Robert Peirce’s birthday party is tonight.”
“So? I hate him! He’s short, he smokes, he acts cool, and he hits on every girl in site and most of them think he’s cute! Why should I want to go to his birthday?”
    “Because Robyn might be going.”
Jacob was totaly caught off guard. A stunned look came across his face. “Don’t act so surprised.” Rick continued, smiling. “I knew you had a thing for Robyn. I’ve seen the way you look at her. The way you looked at her and Shane. Well now Shane is out of the picture. Tonight can be your chance to get to know each other better. Talk to each other.”
    “But we’re not invited...”
“That’s the thing about Robert’s parties. Anyone’s invited. You just have to show up.”
“So we’re going right?” Jacob asked, suddenly changing his tone.
“Oh, of course.” Rick smiled. He knew this would be good. He also knew that Robert liked Robyn as well and personly asked her to be there while they were on the school bus. He wanted Jacob to go out with her, not Robert, so that’s why he told him about the party.

At Lunch, the group went back to the Kazebo again, except this time, Shane wasn’t with them and Robyn looked sad. As they sat and ate, Robyn, Joleen, and Megan sat together and talked about Shane, but Jacob couldn’t hear much.
Suddenly, a rock flew by Weasel’s head and hit one of the wooden struts. They all stood up fast and started running away, just as a group of kids from MQP started chasing after them, throwing rocks.
Rick and Robyn ran in a diffrent direction and Rick stopped and stood in front of Robyn.
“Look! That kid’s trying to protect his girlfriend!”
Jacob looked back when he heard that and even though he knew they wern’t going out, he felt like a ton of bricks hit his heart.
“Hey you!” Jacob yelled. The MQP kids turned to look at him and Rick and Robyn turned and ran, caught up with the others and soon, they were all running again, the MQP kids throwing rocks.
One rock hit Robyn in the back of the leg and she tripped and fell. Jacob looked back to see how far away the MQP kids were and saw that Robyn had fallen. He looked and saw that the MQP kids were almost at her.
He ran back to her and picked up a rock and threw it at the MQP kids to keep them back. They started swearing and threw a rock at him, but missed and hit the pond, splashing water up.
Jacob helped Robyn up and they started running with the MQP kids in close pursuit. Jacob looked ahead and saw that the others were too far ahead to help. As they ran, Jacob reached down and picked up a rock and threw it behind him. It hit one of the other kids in the shoulder and caused him to fall back.
Jacob and Robyn reached a second Kazebo and started to climb. Jacob let Robyn go first, helping her climb as he quickly followed. Once they got to the top, the MQP kids started climbing as well, but as they got close to the top, Robyn and Jacob started kicking them in the faces and heads, causing them to fall back to the ground.
After a minute of that happening, the MQP kids gave up and left. Robyn and Jacob climbed down and started walking.
“Why’d you come back to help me?” Robyn asked. “If they had caught you, they would have thrown you in the pond!”
“Is that concern I hint in your voice?” Jacob smiled and suddenly Robyn shoved Jacob and he went flying into the pond.
“No!” Robyn said. “It’s just...it’s just...ohhh, it’s just that if you were caught, I would have been on my own and they probably would have caught me too.” She turned and stormed off and Jacob slowly climbed out of the pond, dripping wet. It was a good thing it was a warm day.

That night, Rick and Jacob walked inside Robert’s house, party music blaring. Robert Peirce was sitting on the couch with Robyn, eating cheesies.
Jacob saw it, and suddenly felt sick. He wanted to crawl up inside a hole far from the party and die, but he knew he couldn’t.
Him and Rick walked further into the room and saw a bunch of people they knew, and a bunch they didn’t, most from the Smoking Area of the school, who hung out with Robert. Rick went over to a group of kids he used to know and started talking with them.
Jacob started to turn away, but heard his name get called out. He turned around and he saw Robyn looking at him. “Jacob, Come here.” He turned and walked towards her, his legs feeling like jelly.
“Robert, this is one of my friends, Jacob.”
Jacob forced himself to shake hands with Robert. After that, Robert stood up and held up a remote and pressed a button. The music stopped and everyone looked at him. “It’s time to play the games now!”
There was a bunch of cheering. “We’ll be playing spotlight!” Even louder cheering. Spotlight was a game for the night. It was a lot like hide and seek tag, but with a flashlight. Whoever was It, had a flashlight and shined it around, while everyone hid. There was a 'Homes' you had to get to, but if the beam fell on you, and the person who was It said your name while the light beam was on you, you were Out.
Everyone rushed to get their shoes and jackets on. Once evryone was outside, they did the 'highest number' thing to decided who was It first. Whoever guessed furtherest from the number that was chosen by a person, then that person was It. It ended up being Robert. He closed his eyes and started counting as evreyone ran and hid.
Jacob was walking down a dark dirt trail, going through a short patch of woods. Suddenly, he heard, “Ready or not, here I come!” He whipped around and saw the flashlight turn on and start to swing around and he found himself frozen on the spot as the beam came close a couple times.
“Psst.” Jacob heard a whisper. He whipped back around, and started looking. “In here!” He turned and saw Robyn on one side of the woods, in a thick patch of bushes. “Hurry!” Jacob turned and saw the flashlight beam starting to head toward him. He started running and just as the beam got to where he was, he jumped and landed on the other side of the thick bushes, next to Robyn. The beam fell on the bushes and swung all the way around, out of view.
“That was close.” Robyn said as she helped Jacob up into a sitting positon and helped brush branches and needles off of him. He looked up at the same time she did and they looked at each other in the eyes for a minute, before both quickly looked in diffrent directions.
“We should stay here.” Robyn said. “The bushes are thick.” suddenly the beam fell right next to Jacob’s head and was about to move in his direction.
“Crap!” Robyn and Jacob whispered. Robyn grabbed Jacob’s head and layed flat on her stomach, forcing Jacob to lay on the ground as well.
“Olly Olly Ox’n’ free!” Robert called out. That meant he gave up. Robyn and Jacob stood up and walked out onto the path, just as people were coming out of other hiding spots. They saw Robyn and Jacob approch them together, needles and twigs on their clothes.
“Ohhhhh! What were you guys doing?” A kid asked with a smile on his face and the other kids started laughing. All but Robert.
Robyn and Jacob’s faces went red. “It’s not what it looks like.” Jacob said, defending himself.
“It really isn’t.” Robyn agreed. “I only let him hide with me because he was standing in the middle of the road. He would have got caught, so I felt sorry for him and let him hide with me.”
The others joked as they all got ready for round two, but before they could start, a red jeep pulled up and Rick ran over to Jacob.
“That’s my mom, come on.” Rick ran towards the jeep and Jacob walked fast towards it. He kept looking back and foward again, and when he looked back, he kept looking at Robyn and a few of the times he looked back, he saw her looking at him as he went towards the jeep.
He got in and as the jeep pulled out and drove off, Jacob looked out the back window as Round 2 started and Robyn and Robert ran together, going to the same hiding place and he felt his heart sink. He sighed and turned back around to face the front.

As the jeep drove, Jacob started singing.
*Start of TONIGHT AND THE REST OF MY LIFE.*
As the Jacob sings, there’s another montage of scenes. Over the weekend, Jacob, Rick, and Robyn hang out and it shows Robyn and Jacob laughing over something stupid that Rick did, the three of them walking into a video store and renting movies.

    JACOB
Down to the earth I fell
    With dripping wings,
    Heavy things won't fly
And the sky might catch on fire
And burn the axis of the world
    That's why
    I prefer a sunless sky
To the glittering and stinging in my eye

During the next verse, the following montage happens:
Jacob, Rick, and Justin walking around the halls at school, and they pass by Robyn, Joleen, and Megan. As they pass by, Jacob and Robyn look at each other in the eyes and both smile a little bit.
Jacob, Rick, and Justin running from the Tappers and as they do, Jacob sees Robyn and as he runs, they make eye contact again.
Jacob, Rick, Justin, Joleen, Robyn, and Megan are all sitting together at lunch and eating and laughing. Jacob and Robyn are sitting next to each other. Jacob spills juice on Robyn and quickly grabbs a napkin and starts wiping it off her pants. Robyn had also grabbed a napkin and started to do the same, but they both suddenly stopped and looked up at each other.
Robert is sitting with his friends, his friends talking, but all Robert is paying attention to is Robyn and Jacob, a scowl on his face.

    JACOB
    Feel so light
This is all I wanna feel tonight
    Feel so light
Tonight and the rest of my life

    Gleaming in the darksea
    I'm as light as air
    Floating there breathlessly
When the dream dissolves I open up my eyes
    I realize that
    Everything is shoreless sea
    Weightlessness is passing over me

The next Montage shows Robyn and Jacob hanging out in school together and Robyn laughs at somthing Jacob said and lightly and playfully pushes him. Robert is watching from his locker.
Robert tries diffrent things to get Robyn’s attention, but her and Jacob just walk by him, ignoring him.

    JACOB
    Feel so light
This is all I wanna feel tonight
    Feel so light
Tonight and the rest of my life

    Feel so light
This is all I wanna feel tonight
    Feel so light
Tonight and the rest of my life

The song ends, but the music is still lightly playing through the next couple of scenes.

Jacob is at his house at night, in his room, writing a story on his computer. Suddenly his phone rings.
    “Hello?” He asked.
    “Hey, it’s me, Justin.”
    “Oh hey! What’s up.”
“Not much. Look, I just got a call and someone wanted to know something.”
    “Who?”
“Well you have to guess that. I’ll give you a hint. You’ve been hanging out with her a lot lately.”
Jacob thought for a minute. “Joleen?”
“No. Someone you hung out with more.”
    Jacob suddenly realized who. “R...Robyn?”
    “Yep.”
    “What’d she ask you?”
“She wanted me to find something out about you.” Justin answered.
    “What?” Jacob asked.
“She wants to know if you like her.”
Jacob felt his heart thump, his legs go wobbly, his hands start to sweat. “Well, do you?” Justin asked.
“Y...y....yes.” Jacob finnaly managed to whisper. Justin laughed a little bit. “Hey Justin, can you do me a favor?” Jacob asked.
    “Yeah, sure, what is it?”
He couldn’t belive what he was about to do. He’s been dreaming of this for so long and now it might come true. He felt his throat go dry. “Could you...” He coughed to get his throat back to normal. “Could you call Robyn back and...” He paused. “And ask her out for me?”
Justin laughed. “Sure buddy. I’ll call you back in a few minutes then.”
“Ok.” So they hung up and for the next few minutes, Jacob could barely stand the tension. He had never felt like this before. He went to sit on his bed, but couldn’t stay still for long, so he stood up and paced back and forth in his room, which seemed to only make his stomach feel worse.
Suddenly the phone rang and he ran and picked it up. “Hello? Justin?”
“Yeah, it’s me.” He said, almost in an excited tone.
“Well, what did she say?” To Jacob, waiting the next two seconds for Justin to respond seemed like waiting 2 hours.
    “She said Yes.” Justin answered.
Jacob couldn’t belive what he just heard. Was that a yes, or did his mind make it sound like a yes? He heard Justin laughing. “Are you sure? Are you telling the truth?” The way Justin was laughing sounded strange. Something was up.
    “Yes, I’m telling truth!”
“Yeah right.” Jacob sighed, knowing he was a victim of a prank.
Justin suddenly stopped laughing. “Dude, I’m serious, she said Yes.”
Jacob’s face lit up again. He knew that tone better. Justin was serious. “You’re serious, arn’t you?”
    “Of course!”
Suddenly it seemed like nothing else mattered to Jacob. Justin continued. “But I like her too, so it’s my job to give you this speech. If you hurt or, or break her heart in any way, I will kick your ass so bad.”
Jacob smiled. “That’s ok, you have nothing to be worried about. Oh, by the way, Thanks!”
“No problem. Good luck, man.” Justin hung up and then Jacob did as well. He looked out his window at the night sky as the music suddenly started getting louder again. He looked up at a star.

Robyn looked out her window as well and looked up at the same star that Jacob was looking at.

    JACOB AND ROBYN
This is all I wanna feel tonight.

    Everthing is waves and stars
The universe is resting in my arms

    I feel so alive
This is all I wanna feel tonight
    I feel so light
Tonight and the rest of my life

The next morning, Robyn is on the school bus, talking to Rick, Joleen, and Megan. Robert is sitting a couple seats behind them, listning in, not looking very happy. Then again, neither did Joleen.

Jacob was already inside the school with Justin, waiting for the bus to pull up. Suddenly the doors opened as the bus students from Portugal Cove walked inside. Jacob smiled as he saw Robyn walking towards him, smiling. Rick was right behind her and Megan was next to her.
Joleen was in front of Robyn and as she walked by Jacob, an angry look on her face, she turned and pushed him into a locker. “You Shithead.” She whispered to him as she turned and continued walking down the hall.
Jacob looked at her as she walked away and then looked back to the approching Robyn. “What was that all about?”
“Who knows?” Robyn and Jacob hugged and walked down the hall, Jacob’s arm around Robyn.

That night, Jacob was at home, talking on the phone with Robyn when there was a knock on his door. “Look, I’ve got to go.” He said. “See you tomorrow in school.”
“Bye.” They hung up and the door to Jacob’s room opened. His mom and dad walked in.
“Jacob, Honey, you better sit down. We have some bad news.”
“What bad news?” Jacob asked, looking back and forth between the two.
“Well,” His father began. “We’ve been here for 6 years already and in the military, that’s a long time.”
“What are you trying to say?”
    “We got posted.” He answered.
Jacob laughed one of those ‘I can’t belive it’ laughs. “To where?”
“Alberta. Wainwright to be exact. We’re leaving this summer.”
“But, I don’t want to leave.” Jacob couldn’t belive it! He finnaly started going out with the girl of his dreams, and he found out he was moving!
“It isn’t our choice.” His mother said. “We’ll let you think things over. It’ll be good to have a change in scenery. It might prove better for you. After all, you’re not doing that great in school here and I hear that the schools up there are top-notch. It’s for the best.”
His parents turned and walked out of his room, closing the door behind them. Tears came to Jacob’s eyes as he punched his bed and threw his pillow with all his might against the door.
At Lunch, They were all sitting together, except for Joleen, who wasn’t in the Cafiteria. Jacob had some ice cream and he put some on a spoon and Robyn opened her mouth and started gigling. Jacob started laughing as he moved the spoon towards Robyn’s mouth, and he missed and got some ice cream on her nose.
They both broke out laughing so hard, they couldn’t stop.

Justin and Rick were sitting across from them.

*Start of CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT*

    RICK
    Can’t you see what’s happening?

    JUSTIN
    What?

    RICK
And they dont’ have a clue.

    JUSTIN
    Who?

    RICK
They’ll fall in Love and here’s the bottom line, our Trio’s down to two.

    JUSTIN
    Oh.

    RICK
    The sweet smell of spring,
    There’s magic evreywhere
and with all this romantic atmorpshere,
    Disaster’s in the air

Jacob and Robyn are at Portugal Cove during the night, once it got dark and are walking up a road, going up a hill, holding hands, playfully shoving here and there.
On a power line going across the street, a bunch of birds are looking down.

    BIRDS
Can you feel, the love tonight,
    The peace the evening brings
The world for once, in perfect harmony
    With all it’s living things.

Jacob and Robyn are at a pond and there’s a big rock, not far from shore, but it’s a long jump. Jacob keeps trying to jump, but Robyn, smiling, tries to stop him.

    JACOB
So many things to tell her,
but how to make her see,
the truth about my Move. Impossible!
She might turn away from me.

    ROBYN
    He’s holding back, he’s hiding,
    but what I can’t decide.
Why won’t he be the boyfriend I know he is,
    The Boyfriend I see inside.

    BIRDS
Can you feel the love tonight?
    The peace the evening brings

Jacob goes to make a jump for the rock, and lands on the side and slips and falls in. Robyn brakes out laughing. Jacob surfaces, laughing as well. He grabs Robyn by the legs and pulls her in. She surfaces and they both laugh as they swim around in the pond, the only light from the moon and stars.
The next bunch of scenes play during the next couple verses:
Jacob and Robyn holding hands and walking together in school. Both running away from the Tappers, laughing as they run inside the Mini-Mall to get away. Both running away from MQP, laughing, and getting away.
Robyn passing a note to Jacob as they pass each other in the halls, between classes. Jacob giving a note to Robyn. This goes on a few times.

    BIRDS
The world for once, in perfect harmony
    With all it’s living things.

Can you feel, the love tonight?
    You needn’t look to far.
    Stealing through the night’s uncertainties,
    Love is where they are.

Justin and Rick are at their lockers, watching Jacob and Robyn at Robyn’s locker.

    RICK
And if, he falls in love today,
    it can be assumed...

    JUSTIN
His carefree days with us are history.

    RICK AND JUSTIN
In short, our pal is doomed.

They look at each other and start crying. As they do, a tall person walks by in the hall and pushes them both into their lockers. “Deal with it, cry-babies.” and he walked away.

    A couple of months later...

Jacob and Robyn are walking around the halls and Rick is with them. “Did you guys here about the School Board?” He asked
“Yeah.” Jacob answered. “Over the summer, they want to move practically everyone into different schools.”
    “Why?” Robyn asked.
“They say it’s so they go to schools closer to them, so it saves fuel for the buses and cars and stuff. And it saves us time. Though, if you look around, everyone’s arguing about it, nobody wants the change, they like it the way it is.”
Justin ran up to them as Robyn and Jacob looked around and saw people yelling and complaining about the new School Board decision. It still had to be voted on, so it wasn’t final yet.
“They say it’s for the best.” Justin said.
Jacob was suddenly hit with a pain in his heart, reminded of what his parents said about their moving and how his mom had said the same thing.
“If they decide to go ahead with it, what school we go to well be decided upon where we live.” Rick continued.
“That sucks!” Robyn yelled. She turned to Jacob. “That means we’ll be going to different schools next year.”
“Ah...” Jacob didn’t know how to tell her. “We would have been anyway.” He said quietly.
“What are you talking about?” Robyn asked, stopping and turning to look at him. Jacob looked at Rick and Justin and they knew what they had to do. They turned and left, walking away. Jacob had already told them about his move and now it was finnaly time to tell Robyn.
“Listen, I’ve put this off long enough.”
“What?” Robyn asked. “What ever it is, you can tell me.”
Their eyes met as Jacob explained. “I’m moving this summer. To Alberta.”
Robyn took a minute to soak it all in. “But that’s, like, on the other side of the country. When did you find out?”
Jacob was afraid she’d ask that question. “Two months ago.” He gulped. His throat was suddenly very dry.
“Why didn’t you tell me then?”
Jacob sighed. “I was afraid you wouldn’t want to continue to go out with me, because I was moving and we’d have to brake up in the end, anyway.”
Robyn started to laugh and hugged Jacob. “I’d never have done that. Is that why you didn’t tell me?”
They stopped hugging and continued walking. “All this means is that we’ll have to make the best of what time we have left.”

Later, in Math class, Mr. Park was teaching. “You guys continue with your work. I have to make a trip down to the office.” And he left.
Rick turned to Jacob. “So, how did Robyn take the news?” He asked with concern.
“Very well, actually. We’re still going out.” Jacob smiled. “We’re going to a movie tonight.”
    “Which one?”
“Either The Mummy, or The Matrix. I’ve already seen the Matrix and it’s really good, but Robyn really wants to see The Mummy, so we’re probably going to be going to that.”
    “Ah cool! Can I come?”
“It’s supposed to be a date between me and Robyn, but I’ll ask.” Jacob said with a chuckle.

That evening, at the mall, Jacob and Rick were at a payphone and Jacob was hanging it up.
“So, what did she say?” Rick asked.
Jacob smiled. “She said you could come.” Rick started to smile as well, but then Jacob’s smile went away. “And she also invited someone else as well.”
“Who?” Rick asked, his smile also going away.
“Supposedly she’s starting to talk to Shane again. He’s coming.”
    “Ah crap.”
“Come on, let’s go get the tickets.”

At the ticket line, Rick and Jacob were walking away, holding their tickets. Jacob also had Robyn’s ticket. He put them in his pocket.
“Where did she say we were meeting?” Rick asked.
“Over there.” Jacob and Rick walked over to a bench in front of the theatre and waited. Soon enough, Shane walked over with a friend - Robert.
    “Oh no.” Rick quietly moaned.
“What?” Jacob asked. Rick pointed. “Oh no. What’s he doing here?”
“He’s with me.” Shane answered. “We just got our tickets.”
    “So did we.” Rick said.
“So you guys looking forward to seeing The Matrix?” Robert asked.
“We’re seeing The Mummy.” Jacob said, standing up.
“I’ve already seen that.” Robert said. “It sucks. We’re seeing The Matrix.”
“Well I’ve already seen that, and I haven’t seen The Mummy yet.” Jacob argued. “And Robyn really wants to see it.”
“Well I’ve already got her ticket for The Matrix.” Robert said.
“What?” Jacob yelled. “She’s MY girlfriend! You don’t buy MY girlfriend a ticket to a movie she doesn’t even want to see! I bought her a ticket to The Mummy, and she said she really wanted to see it!”
“Fine then. Let’s go cash it in.” Shane and Robert turned and walked away.
“Good.” Jacob said, sitting down. “At least they’re seeing a different movie then us now.”
“So when are you going to kiss Robyn?” Rick asked. “You’ve been going out for a long time and you haven’t even kissed!”
“I want it to be dramatic.”
“She doesn’t care about being dramatic.”
“She well. Trust me.” Jacob smiled.
“Hey guys!” They turned and Robyn ran over to them. Jacob stood up and hugged her. When they finished, he handed her, her ticket.
“What movie?” Robyn looked at her ticket and saw that it was for The Mummy. “Oh, thank you!” She hugged Jacob again.

They had got inside the theatre and started walking down the aisle, looking for a good seat. They found one and Robyn and Jacob sat next to each other and Rick sat on the other side of Jacob.
Before the movie started, they heard, “Hey guys.” Jacob and Rick whipped their heads and saw Shane and Robert walking towards them and sit down, Robert sitting on the other side of Robyn.
“Damn, they changed their tickets.” Jacob whispered to Rick, who was moaning. Soon after, the movie started and Jacob put his arm around Robyn, and throughout the movie, Robert kept trying to put the moves on Robyn.
He tried to put his arm around her once, but Jacob knocked it away. Then through out the movie, Robert would lean back, behind Robyn and fling popcorn at Jacob. Then, he put his hand on Robyn’s leg and started to move it.
Robyn moved closer to Jacob and away from Robert, who got the hint and moved his hand back to himself. He still threw popcorn at Jacob throughout the movie, but one hit Robyn and she turned on him.
“Will you stop throwing popcorn at me and my boyfriend?! And by the way, next time you even think about touching me, you little worm, I’ll kick your ass so hard, you won’t be able to sit down for a week!” She whispered loudly.
Robert and Shane stood up and walked out of the theatre. They’d never see very much of those two after that. The rest of the movie was very enjoyable.

Later that week, at lunch, Jacob, Justin, and Rick were at Robyn’s locker, waiting for Robyn. After 15 minutes of waiting, Jacob began to get scared. “Where is she?” He asked, looking around the halls. “The rest of her class is out for lunch. If she had detention, she would have got Megan to come and tell me.”
Suddenly, Megan ran up to them, out of breath. “Megan, what is it?” Justin asked.
    “It's Robyn. She’s in trouble!”
“What? What kind of trouble?” Jacob asked.
    “Tapper trouble! She’s outside.”
“Jacob, wait.” Rick said, but it was too late, Jacob was already gone.

Outside, one of the Tappers had Robyn cornered against the side of the school. Whenever she tried to move, he’d step in front of her, and he’d push her back into the wall.
Jacob stormed out of the school, mad, seeing this, and walking fast. Then he saw the Tapper grab her by her wrist and started to drag her away.
“Hey!” Jacob yelled. The Tapper turned around just in time to see Jacob charge him. Jacob jumped in the air at the last second and rammed into the Tapper, sending him into the wall, and letting go of Robyn.
The Tapper swung around and swung Jacob into the wall, but he did it by grabbing onto Jacob’s shirt, therefore, ripping the sleeve all the way down the side. The side fell to the ground and half of Jacob’s chest was seen.
He brought his hand back and then brought it forward hard, punching the Tapper. Suddenly, the other Tappers ran from around the corner.
    “Get him!” They shouted.
Robyn pulled Jacob away and they began running, being joined by Justin and Rick, the Tappers in close pursuit.
They were chased down the street and they ran out in front of the mini-mall. They all stopped to catch their breaths, and Jacob looked behind them and didn’t see the Tappers coming.
    “Where’d they go?” He asked.
Then suddenly an apple flew over the roof from the other side and smashed on the ground in the parking lot, a few metres from them. Then an orange came and that was soon followed by a pudding.
“Boy, they have bad aim.” Justin whispered to Rick. Jacob reached down and picked up the pudding, which had exploded on the ground, and flung it back over the roof. A second later, they heard one of the Tappers loudly moan.
And then the Tapper shouted, “I’m going to kill them!” Soon enough, the Tappers ran around the corner and one of them had chocolate on his shirt.
“Time to run!” Rick said. They turned and ran inside IGA, the Tappers not far behind. Once inside, they slowed to a fast walk, as not to arouse attention, and they walked quickly through the aisles, and out into the mini-mal's halls.
They looked behind and saw the Tappers were still running after them. The Tappers reached them and grabbed Jacob by the shirt collar and started walking with him.
“Let him go!” Robyn shouted, tugging on them.
Suddenly, a security guard came over. “Let him go.” He sighed. The Tappers did. “Now get out of here.”
The Tappers turned and left the mini-mall. Jacob, Robyn, Rick, and Justin continued on to the other exit and went out.
    “That was a close call.”
“I wouldn’t talk yet.” Justin said. They turned and saw the Tappers after them again.
“Ah hell.” Jacob sighed. They turned and ran up a small hill and saw they were right next to Mary Queen of Peace! Suddenly, all the kids that were outside, turned and saw them.
The group stopped in their tracks. “Well this can’t be good.” Rick stated the obvious.
They turned and ran towards the street with all the MQP kids and the Tappers after them. They reached the street and crossed, avoiding cars, and causing others to screech to a stop. In the end, they made it back to the school, leaving all the others behind.
Once they got inside the school, they started walking around, catching their breaths.
“Well that was fun.” Rick said. Jacob, Robyn, and Justin looked at him. “What?”
As they walked, they saw groups of people here and there, most of them crying, even some of the guys.
“I wonder what’s going on.” Robyn said. Then as they were walking, Joleen walked passed them angrily. “Something tells me that she’s still pissed off at you about something.”
“I still don’t know what I did.” Jacob admitted. Then Megan ran up to them, tears in her eyes.
“Megan? What’s going on?” Robyn asked.
“It’s bad.” She said with tears in her eyes. “The School Board just voted. They had it over the announcements. We’re all changing schools. Friends well be split up, relationships well be broken, all because the School Board thinks it well be easier to get to school. We won’t even be able to choose what school we go to. We have to go to the school for our area. This is the last month most of these people well be together.”
“That’s awful.” Jacob exclaimed. “We can’t let them get away with it. We have to let them know how we feel.”
“How?” Megan asked. “What can we do? We’re only a bunch of kids.”
“We’re a bunch of voices. Angry voices. And we well be heard. I say we go on strike.” Jacob said.
One of the kids, form one of the groups in the hall, turned to him. “Strike? How can we do that? We’re not a union.”
*Start of THE WORLD WELL KNOW*

    JACOB
    The School Board,
    They think we're nothin'
    Are we nothin'?

    STUDENTS:
    No!

During this song, Jacob and his friends walk around the school and more and more students turn their attention towards him and more and more start singing as well.

    JACOB:
    The School Board,
    They think they got us
    Do they got us?

    STUDENTS:
    No!

    JACOB:
Even though we ain't got hats or badges
We're a union just by saying so,
    And the world will know!
What's it gonna take to stop the changing?
    Are we ready?

    STUDENTS:
    Yeah!

    JACOB:
What's it gonna take to stop the Officials?
    Can we do it?

    STUDENTS:
    Yeah!

    JACOB:
We'll do what we gotta do
Until we break the will of mighty Bill and Joe

    STUDENTS:
    And the World will know!
    And the Journal too!
    Hey School Board,
Have we got news for you!
    Now the world will hear!
    What we got to say.
    We’ll be making headlines
    And we're makin' 'em today
    And our ranks will grow!

    WEASEL:
    And we'll kick their rear!

    STUDENTS:
    And the world will know,
    That we been here!

    JACOB:
When the Lunch bell starts ringin'
    Will we hear it?

    STUDENTS:
    No!

    JACOB:
What if the teacher’s come out yellin'
    Will we hear them?

    STUDENTS:
    No!

When you got a hundred voices singin'
Who can hear a lousy whistle blow?
    And the world will know,
    That this ain't no game.
That we got a ton of rotten fruit and perfect aim.
    So they gave their word
    But it ain't worth beans.
    Now they're gonna see
What "We don’t want to" really means
    And the day has come
    And the time is now
    And the fear is gone

    WEASEL:
    And our name is mud!

    STUDENTS:
    And the strike is on.

    WEASEL:
    And I can't stand blood!

    STUDENTS
    And the world will...

    JACOB:
The School Board may own the Schools, but they don't own us!

    STUDENTS:
The School Board may own the Schools, but they don't own us!

    JACOB:
The School Board may crack the whip but they won't whip us!

    STUDENTS:
The School Board may crack the whip but they won't whip us!
And the world will know. And the world will learn.
And the world will wonder how we made the tables turn.
    And the world will see,
    That we had to choose,
That the things we do today will be tomorrow's news.
    And the old will fall!
    And the young stand tall!
    And the time is now!
    And the winds will blow!
And our ranks will grow and grow and grow and so,
The world will feel the fire
    And finally know!

The bell rang to end Lunch and everyone started throwing their books at the bells in the hall.

Outside, all is peaceful and quiet. Suddenly the door busted open and tons of students rushed out, cheering and chanting, “Strike, Strike, Strike!”

Inside, Jacob, Rick, Justin, Megan, and Robyn were running down the halls, the principal chasing after them. “Get back here, trouble makers!”
In the halls, everyone was throwing books around and ignoring the teachers. One hard cover text book flung and hit Rick in the back of the head, making him stumble, but still managed to stay with the others.
Just as they were about to leave the school, laughing and cheering, an anouncment came over the intercom. “This is your Principal speaking.” came an angry voice. “This well stop! Any student that is found with an un-excusable absent for the afternoon, but a present for the morning, well be suspended during Exam week! That means, if you leave, you well fail your exams and your grade!”
The kids that were left, started moaning. “And you also have to clean up the mess in the halls that you made. Good afternoon.”
The kids that were left, which were about half of them, gave into defeat and started picking up the mess.
“No! We can’t loose!” Jacob yelled. He tried to run to the doors, but Robyn grabbed him.
    “Not so fast!”
    “Let me go!”
With the help of Justin and Rick, she dragged him to the empty cafeteria and sat him down in a seat. Then they found poles with red rope going from one to the other and they took the red rope off and tied it around Jacob and the chair.
“Let me loose! I need to be out there!”
    “Sorry.” Rick said.
“Yeah,” Robyn agreed. “I can’t have you getting suspended and not being in school with me and failing. We’ll go help clean up the halls, and then be back for you.” They turned and walked out.
“Guys! Help! Please!” But there was no one left.

About half an hour later, Robyn and Rick were back and they untied Jacob. He jumped up and made a run for it, but Rick grabbed him and Robyn placed a string around his neck.
“What’s this?” He asked. Robyn walked in front of him and showed him. The stirng that was around his neck was attached to her hair brush.
“It’s so you don’t run away.”
“I’m stronger then you!” Jacob said. “I can run and this brush and string well jerk out of your hand!” He turned to run, but as he did, the string tightened around his neck and he started choking.
“Just calm down!” Robyn ordered. Jacob did and the string got loose again. “It’s a choke chain!” She said with excitement. “Now you can’t run away.”
They left the Cafeteria, and walked down the hall, Jacob still on the leash. Soon, they saw Mr. Park and stopped to talk to him. “Hey, Mr. Park.” Rick said.
“Hey. Oh great a brush!” He took the brush from Robyn and started brushing his hair. He was about to pass it back to Robyn, when he saw a string on the end. “What’s this for?”
Jacob tried to shake his head, but before he could, Mr. Park tugged on the string and looked over and saw Jacob’s face starting to turn blue.
“Oops.” He said with a smile. “Sorry.” He let the string loose. Jacob gave him a dirty look as they walked away.
A couple weeks passed and it was now the last day of school. The day they get their report cards. At Lunch, Robyn, Jacob (still with the choke chain. Robyn put it on everyday because she thought it was funny), and Rick were walking around the halls. Soon, Justin ran up to them.
    “Guys, big emergency!”
    “What is it?” Jacob asked.
“MQP is raging war on us!”
    “What!?” Rick shouted.
“Yeah, I was just over there and one of the Tappers, who used to go there, told me to get people from this school and to meet them on their field.”
“Crap. What are we going to do?” Jacob asked.
“Well my cousin is one of the most well known people in the smoking area. I’ve already talked to her and she said that she can get most of the smoking area people to help us. I also just talked to Weasel and he’ll also be helping us.”
“So it’s a War bewteen schools.” Robyn said. “We’re going to War.”
“No.” Jacob said, turning to face her. “No we. It’s too dangerous. I’m going, you’re not. You’re staying.”
“Is it because I’m a girl?” Robyn asked. Before Jacob could speak, she continued, “Because if it is, tuff. I’m going and I don’t want to hear another word.” Jacob was about to say something, but Robyn put her hand on the rope. “Not another word!” she repeated.
“This war could also make a great story.” Jacob added.,"For when I'm bored and need something to write.

*Start of ONCE AND FOR ALL*
During this song, the group is walking down the halls, slowly getting Weasel, Justin’s cousin Lisa, and the smoking area people.

    JUSTIN
This is the story you wanted to write,
Well, today is the day that you can.

    JACOB
Just get this done and by afternoon’s late light
We can finish the fight we began.

    RICK:
This time we're in it to stay.

    ROBYN:
    Think about seizing the day.

    JACOB:
    Think of that Plane
As she rolls into old Alberta,
Tell 'em I'm on my way!

    SMOKING AREA KIDS:
See MQP snug in their school.
They don't care if we're dead or alive.
    Head’s on their desks
    While we’re fighting to pass!
MQP, if you're still countin' sheep
Wake up and read 'em and weep!
    You got your kids
With their sticks and their slugs
Yeah, but we got a promise to keep.
    Once and for all

    JUSTIN
Something tells me the tide'll be turnin'

    JACOB
There's a fire inside me that won't stop burnin'
Now that the choices are clear,
    Now that tomorrow is here,
Watch how the mighty will fall
    For once and for all

    EVERYONE:
This is for kids shinin' shoes in the street
With no shoes on their feet every day.
This is for guys sweatin' blood in the shops
While the bosses and cops look away.
This is to even the score.
This ain't just school no more.
This ain't just kids with some pie in the sky
This is do it or die
    This is war!
    Once and for all
We'll be there to defend one another!
    Once and for all
    Every kid is our friend,
    Every friend a brother.
Five thousand fists in the sky!
    Five thousand reasons to try!
    We're goin' over the wall!
Better to die than to crawl!
Either we stand or we fall!
    For once
    Once and for all

    Once and for all!

By now, they had they’re little army. They had all reached the street and started running across it with cars coming. Robyn was in a dress, so she couldn’t run very far, but Jacob was trying to run, but due to the choke chain, he kept choking and having to wait for Robyn, almost getting hit by a couple cars. Robyn was laughing.
On the other side of the street, not that far away, they saw the army that MQP had made and was waiting for them. The small army from MacDonald Drive started singing another song, this one louder.

*Start of WE WILL ROCK YOU*

    LISA
    Buddy you’re a boy
Make a big noise playing in the street
Gonna be a big man someday
You got blood in your face, big disgrace
Kicking your can all over the place
    Singing...

    EVERYONE
We will, We will rock you!
We will, We will rock you!

    LISA
Keep the beat up, why, I’m gonna turn your heat up
Gonna get you on the floor, gonna burn your feet up
Rocking you like I never rocked you before
Like the way I do got you screaming for more.

    JUSTIN
    We causing utter devastation
When we stepping to the place
And better believe that you can see
We’re gonna rock and never stop.
    And here we go again
Hit you with the flow again
Kick it up the second time around
We’ll bring it on again -- shout it out...

    EVERYONE
We will, we will rock you!
We will, we will rock you!
We will, we will rock you!
Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go

    WEASEL
Buddy, you’’re an old man, poor man
    Pleading with your eyes
    Gonna make you something someday
You got mud on your face, big disgrace
Somebody better put a bag over your face,
    Singing...

    EVERYONE
We will, we will rock you!
We will, we will rock you!
We will, we will rock you!

They reached MQP and there were about the same amount of people there as well, including the Tappers.
“Fight!” one of the MQP kids shouted.
Everyone charged at each other and before anyone knew it, Lisa and the people from the smoking area whipped out water balloons and started throwing them, smashing them on the MQP kids, getting them soaking wet.
Then one kid noticed that only a couple had water in it. Others had mustard, paint, and other harmful and staining things.
One MQP kid got bleach in his eyes from a balloon and he covered his eyes and stumbled around, blindly. “My eyes, my eyes!”
MQP started throwing rocks, braking most of the balloons before they even reached them. Then some of the rocks started hitting the Smoking area kids.
Jacob ran over to one of the Tappers, who had a rock and was about to throw it at Rick. “I have a score to settle with you.” Jacob whispered as he ran over. He tapped the Tapper on the shoulder and when he turned around, Jacob threw a punch, knocking the Tapper out. Once the tapper fell, Jacob stood above him and glared down at him. “Woof.”

Robyn was in a cat fight with another girl and she was on the ground, the other girl on top of her, about to punch her. Then all of a sudden, the girl was kicked off of her and she went flying into the pond. Lisa reached down a hand to help Robyn back up and they both started fighting together.

The rest of the fight was pretty much the same. It turned into a giant fist fight, with everyone throwing punches, kicks, throwing, tripping, spitting, head butting. Sometimes MQP kids would get bet up, other times it was MacDonald Drive kids.

After about an hour and a half of fighting, the remaining concouise MQP kids, including one of the Tappers, turned and ran inside their school.
A minute later, one of the windows opened and a couple of text books were thrown down and missed everyone by a mile.
“Must be that Tapper throwing them.” Jacob said to Rick, who smiled. Lisa reared back and threw a balloon up and it went into the classroom. It was followed by shouts and the window slammed shut.
“What was in that?” Robyn asked.
“Oh not much. Just crushed up rotten eggs.” A giant smile crossed her face. Everyone who was concouise let out a victory cry and started cheering and singing. As the do, a couple of the kids take out cell phones and call for an ambulance.

*start of WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS*

    LISA
    I've paid my dues,
    Time after time.
    I've done my sentence
    But committed no crime.
And bad mistakes I've made a few.
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face,
    But I've come through.

    EVERYONE
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting, till the end.
    We are the champions
    We are the champions.
    No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions...of the world.

    WEASEL
    I've taken my bows
    And my curtain calls.
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it.
    I thank you all.

    JACOB
But it's been no bed of roses.
    No pleasure cruise.
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race -
    And I ain't gonna lose.

    EVERYONE
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting, till the end.
    We are the champions.
    We are the champions.
    No time for losers,
'Cause we are the champions...of the world.

The singing faded as they got further and further away, heading back to their school.

Left back in the felid, Jacob and Robyn stood looking around.
“Robyn?” Jacob asked. She turned to him.
    “Yeah?”
Jacob took Robyn by the waist and leaned in and kissed her. The kiss lasted for several minutes and when they were done, Robyn looked up into Jacob’s eyes, smiled, and whispered. “Now that was dramatic!”
“Come on, let’s go get our report cards.” As they were walking, Jacob felt a sharp pain in his stomach, and quickly covered it with his hand, and after a minute, it was gone.

About half an hour later, the halls in the school were filled with kids emptying out their lockers, and leaving.
*Start of SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER*

As this song goes on, different kids do different things. Some rush outside, others egg the office, others clean out their lockers, others walk in groups.

    PRINCIPAL
    Well, we got no choice
    All the girls and boys
    Makin' all that noise
    Cause they found new toys

The Principal is hiding under his desk as eggs fly through the door.

    STUDENT WHO IS EGGING OFFICE
    Well, we can't salute ya
    Can't find a flag
    If that don't suit ya
    That's a drag

    ALL STUDENTS
    School's out for summer
    School's out forever
    School's been blown to pieces

Some students start throwing ripped up peices of paper around the halls as they run down them and out the doors.

    STUDENT
    No more pencils
    No more books
    No more teacher's dirty looks

    ANOTHER STUDENT
    Well, we got no class
    And we got no principals
    And we got no innocence
I can't even think of a word that rhymes

    ALL STUDENTS
    School's out for summer
    School's out forever
My school's been blown to pieces

    No more pencils
    No more books
    No more teacher's dirty looks

    School’s Out for summer
    School’s Out till fall
We might not come back at all

    School's out forever

Suddenly, Mr. Park appears and starts singing as well.

    MR. PARK
    School's out for summer
    School's out with fever

    EVERYONE
    School's out completely!

Rick, Justin, Robyn, and Jacob were waiting at the entrance for Robyn and Rick’s bus to come. Suddenly, they saw it starting to come.
“Hey Jacob,” Robyn said. “You’re coming to my party in a couple days, right?”
“Of coarse.” Robyn’s birthday was in a couple days and the entire party was being held in a Rec Centre and was going to be a dance. Now wasn’t the time for Jacob to tell her that he couldn’t dance.
“Good. You still like to write stories, right?”
    “Yeah.” Jacob answered.
“Good. Then for my birthday, you can write me a song!” The bus pulled up and kids started to get on. Robyn kissed Jacob, waved buy, and got on as well.
    “But...but...” Jacob whispered. “I can’t write songs.”
Justin patted Jacob on the back as they started to walk away. “You’ll think of something.”

The night of the party, dance music was on and a strobe light was going off. Jacob, Rick, and Justin sat at a table, neither one knowing how to dance. Jacob watched Robyn as she danced with her friends.
Soon, people had gathered round, trying to talk Jacob into dancing with Robyn, and after a few minutes, he admitted that he couldn’t dance.
Robyn’s mother and father led Jacob out onto the back balcony. “This is how you slow dance.” Robyn’s mother said. She took Jacob’s hands and started slow dancing with him and Robyn’s father whistled a tune.
“See.” Robyn’s mother said. “It’s not that hard. Just move you’re feet like this. One two three, one two three, got it?”
“I think so.” Jacob said slowly.
“Good.” They led him back inside and he sat down.
Then, once the party music ended, the lead musician said, “I have a request that everyone clears the dance floor.” There were some moans. “And make room for the birthday girl and her boyfriend.”
“Who requested that?” Jacob demanded at his table. He turned to his friends. “Who?” Then he saw they were all smiling. “Great.”
He was dragged out to the dance floor and felt his heart sink. He had never actually danced before. What if he was no good? What if everyone laughed at him.
Robyn took Jacob’s hands and leaned her head on his shoulder as the music started. Slow music. “Just dance like my mom taught you and you’ll do fine.” Robyn whispered. They started slow dancing around.

*Start I’LL NEVER BRAKE YOUR HEART*

As they dance to the music, Jacob looked out at all the watchful faces, and the smiling and encouraging faces of his friends. Then he saw Robyn’s mom crying tears of joy.

    SONG:
    Baby, I know you're hurting.
Right now you feel like You could never love again.
Now all I ask is for a chance To prove that I love you.

From the first day that I saw your smiling face
Honey, I knew that we would be together forever
Ooh and I asked you out, you said no But I found out
    Darling, that you'd been hurt
You felt that you'd never love again
I deserve a try, honey, just once
Give me a chance and I'll prove this all wrong
You walked in you were so quick to judge
But honey, he's nothing like me
    I'll never break your heart
    I'll never make you cry
I'd rather die, ten live without you
I'll give you all of me
    Honey that's no lie
    I'll never break your heart
    I'll never make you cry
I'd rather die, ten live without you
I'll give you all of me Honey that's no lie
As time goes by you will get to know me
    A little more better
Girl that's the way love goes baby, baby
I know you are afraid to let
    Your feelings show (feelings show)
    And I understand
But girl it's time to let go
Girl it's time to let go(girl it's time to let go because)
I deserve a try honey, just once
Give me chance and I'll prove this all wrong
You walked in you were so quick to judge
But honey he's nothing like me Darling, why can't you see
    I'll never break your heart
    No way (no way)no how
    I'll make you cry
    Oh, need me
Honey no way I'll do you right(no how)
    I say no how
I would never do that to you girl
Ooh, just give me a chance
To prove you how much I love you
I would give you the world
    If you're my girl...

The song ended and Robyn and Jacob kissed and everyone cheered as they crowded the dance floor. "That's our song." Robyn whispered. Jacob went and sat back down with his friends and they started talking. After a couple songs, My Heart Will Go On started playing.

*Start MY HEART WILL GO ON*

    MUSIC
    Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you go on

Jacob stood up and walked over to Robyn’s seat, where she was sitting with Megan and another couple of her friends and younger brother, Joey. Jacob looked down at her.
    “Care to dance?” He asked.
“I’d love to.” Jacob and Robyn went back out to the dance floor and slow danced through the song. As they did, Jacob saw pretty much the same reactions and faces as he did the last time and everyone else slowly cleared the dance floor, then towards the end, they started coming back on, and slow dancing as well.
    Megan danced with Joey.

    MUSIC
    Far across the distance
    And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

    Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
    And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life we'll always go on

    Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

    You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
    We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

As the song ended, a tear came to Jacob’s eye because he knew that he would be moving soon, and all this would be but a memory in his mind. He didn’t want it to end. He didn’t want to move.
Once that song ended, the lead musician said, “Now that’s all the music I have for you tonight, but I’ve been told that the birthday girl’s boyfriend has a song for her. Let’s hear it for Jacob LaChance!”
There were cheers as Jacob was pushed up on stage, Robyn cheering the loudest. He passed a musical sheet to the band, who quickly found the right key and started playing.

    *Start of YOUR SONG*

During the song, Jacob starts off up on stage, but slowly walks down the steps and everyone starts making a path for him as he walks towards Robyn.

    JACOB
My gift is my song and this one’s for you
And you can tell everybody that this is your song
It maybe quite simple but now that it's done
Hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words, how wonderful life is
    Now you’'re in the world
I sat on the roof and I kicked off the moss
Well some of these verses well they, they got me quite cross
But the sun's been kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on.
So excuse my forgetting, but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is - what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

    BAND
And you can tell everybody that this is your song
It maybe quite simple but now that it's done

    JACOB
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simply but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you're in the world
    I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you're in the world.

He stopped right in front of Robyn, who was smiling and blushing. “Happy Birthday Robyn. I love you.” He then held her and they kissed as everyone cheered yet again.

The next day, Jacob was at home watching T.V., when suddenly, he screamed out in pain and clutched his stomach.
His parents ran in and his Mom went over to him. She turned back to Jacob’s dad. “We have to bring him to the hospital right away!”

Robyn was at her house, on the computer, when her phone rang. It was Rick. “Oh hey! What’s up?”
“I’m afraid I have some bad news. It’s about Jacob.” His voice sounded really sad and Robyn knew something terrible had happened.
“What about him?” Robyn asked, noticing the tone of voice.
“Last night, he was in his house when he had an appendix attack.”
“Oh God!” Robyn covered her mouth with her hand.

Later that day, Robyn was standing next to a hospital bed that currently held Jacob.
    "Hey, how are you feelin?"
"Tired." Jacob replied in a weak voice. "I havn't eaten in awhile, and they've decided not to do an operation, because the swelling's gone down."
"I'm so sorry this happened." Robyn had tears in her eyes.
"It's ok. It wasn't your fault and there's nothing you could have done. I'm not going to die now. I got brought in, and now that the sweeling's gone down, there's no danger. I just have to say one more night for observation."
"When you get out, are you still gonna have time to see me before you leave?" Robyn sniffed and wiped tears away from her eyes.
"I'll make sure of it." Jacob whispered.
Then a nurse walked by. "I'm afraid you're going to have to leave. Mr. LaChance needs some rest."
Robyn started walking away. "I love you." She whispered.
"I love you too." Jacob managed to say with the little strength he had left. Robyn turned and walked out of the room.

A couple days later, after Jacob got out of the hospital, Jacob went up to Rick's to spend a couple days.
Rick, Robyn, and Jacob were walking down a dirt road, talking and laughing. All of a sudden, Jacob felt a sharp pain in his stomach and clutched it, but at the same time, tried to hide it.
It was too late, Robyn had seen. “Jacob, something wrong?”
“No.” He said, trying not to let the pain show in his voice.
“It’s happening again, isn’t it?” Robyn asked, frightened.
    “No.” Jacob lied.
“Come on, we have to get him to the hospital.” Rick tried to grab Jacob’s arm, but he pulled away.
    “No!”
“You could die!” Robyn yelled. “If you wait too long to get it looked at, your appendix could explode and kill you!”
“I don’t care.” Sweat was starting to form on Jacob’s face.
“Why don’t you want to go to the hospital?”
“Because," Jacob shouted. "I’ll be spending my last few days here, in the hospital, having surgery done, and not with you.” He said with sincerity. “I’ve only got a few days left and I want to be with you. I may never see you again after this. Or it may be many years.”
“Awww.” Robyn said, smiling, clutching her chest where her heart is. “But still, you’re going to the hospital.”
“No, I’m not!” Jacob yelled. He then stood up straight. “See, I’m better.”
    “Jacob!” Robyn said.
“I am, look, I can even walk.” Jacob started walking and as he did, inside his closed mouth, he was biting his tongue so hard, it was starting to bleed. He had to ignore the pain.
Robyn and Rick followed, but keeping a close eye on Jacob. After about an hour, the pain went away.

The music from I’ll Never Brake Your Heart plays as a montage of scenes are shown:
Jacob packing up his room and placing stuff in boxes. Moving trucks coming and loading up. Moving trucks driving off.
Jacob, Justin, and Rick hanging out at the mall. Jacob and Robyn hanging out at the mall. Jacob and Robyn kissing.
Jacob, Justin, and Rick having their own little party in Jacob’s hotel room.
Jacob saying good-bye to Justin and Rick, shaking their hands. It eventually turned into hugs.

Jacob was on a dock, a ship behind him. His parents were already on, finding their room. Jacob stood, facing Robyn.
“Look, no matter how far away I am, I will always Love You. I want you to know that.” Jacob said, holding Robyn.

*Start of COME WHAT MAY *

    JACOB
Never knew I could feel like this
Like I've never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I love more and more
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time

    Come what may
    Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

    ROBYN
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace

    BOTH
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste

    Robyn:
    It all revolves around you

    BOTH:
And there's no mountain too high
    No river too wide
Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side
    Storm clouds may gather
    And stars may collide

    JACOB
    But I love you

    ROBYN
    I love you

    JACOB
    until the end

    ROBYN
    Until the end

    BOTH
    of time

    Come what may
    Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

Oh, come what may, come what may
    I will love you,

    ROBYN
    I will love you
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place

    BOTH
    Come what may
    Come what may
I will love you until my dying day.

Tears started to come to their eyes and they hugged each other and kissed and then hugged again as Robyn cried on Jacob’s shoulder. He patted her head. Suddenly the boat whistled.
“Look, I’ve got to go. I’ll call you when I get up there.”
“Bye.” Robyn said through tears. It took all of Jacob’s strength to turn and walk up the ramp and when he got to the top, he turned and looked at Robyn as she waved good-bye, still crying. Jacob waved bye, and then the ramp was pulled up and blocked his view.
Jacob quickly ran up on deck and by the time he got to the top, he saw that the boat had left and the dock was behind him now. He ran to the back and could barely make out a figure standing on the dock.
Jacob looked up at the sky and saw that it was cloudy and on the verge of rain. Almost as if God was sad that he was leaving. It started to rain at that second, but Jacob didn’t care. He continued to stare back at the dock, back at Newfoundland as the boat went away from it. Went away from his home. His life. His girlfriend.
He finally let the tears come as he broke down crying. He felt a hand on his shoulder and he turned and saw the Ship’s Captain. He turned back and cried as he looked at the dock, Newfoundland, and most importantly, Robyn, slowly getting further and further away, the boat dragging him further and further away from Robyn.

*Start of I HOPE YOU HAD THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE*

    CAPTAIN
    Another turning point
A fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist
    Directs you where to go
So make the best of this test
    And don't ask why
    It's not a question
But a lesson learned in time
    It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

During this song, Jacob had flashbacks of what happened earlier that year:
Flashbacks of watching Robyn and Shane, jumping off the Kazebo, getting chased by the Tappers, asking Robyn out, having a great time with Robyn, the war of the schools, the strike, the dog chain, the two birthday parties, the theatre, smiling faces of all his friends, Joleen pushing him into a locker, the slow dancing with Robyn, his appendix attack, and other various flashbacks. It just made him cry harder.

    CAPTAIN
    So take the photographs
And still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf of
    Good health and good time
    Tattoos of memories
    And dead skin on trial
    For what it's worth
It was worth all the while
    It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

    It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

Jacob snapped back to reality. He looked down into the ocean and took out a coin. He made a wish and flung the coin down into the ocean. At that moment, part of the sun broke through and shined down.
As the music faded away, the captain turned Jacob back in the other direction and started to walk him inside.
“Come on in, you’re going to catch a cold out here.”
    Still crying, Jacob went inside.

Down in the ocean, the coin was still floating down, and it appeared to wink as a sun ray shined off of it.

    CAPTAIN’S VOICE
    (Slowly turning into Jacob’s)

    It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life.

    JACOB’S VOICE
    It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life.

The coin hit off a rock and fell to the bottom of the ocean.

    EPILOGUE

Robyn was in her room during the Fall. School had started up again and she looked out her window as night was coming. The trees were different colours. The wind was picking up strength and a leaf fell from a tree.

    *Start of BIG BIG GIRL*

    ROBYN
    I'm a big big girl
    in a big big world
It's not a big big thing if you leave me
but I do do feel that
I to to will miss you much
    miss you much...

I can see the first leaf falling
    it's all yellow and nice
    It's so very cold outside
like the way I'm feeling inside

    I'm a big big girl
    in a big big world
It's not a big big thing if you leave me
but I do do feel that
I to to will miss you much
    miss you much...

It’s now during the day, and it’s a gray day and raining. Robyn is walking down the street in the rain, kicking a rock.

    ROBYN
    Outside it's now raining
and tears are falling from my eyes
why did it have to happen
why did it all have to end

She’s back inside, thinking about the past, various flashbacks from the story pop up throughout the rest of the song.

    ROBYN
    I'm a big big girl
    in a big big world
It's not a big big thing if you leave me
but I do do feel that
I to to will miss you much
    miss you much...

I have your arms around me
    ooooh like fire
but when I open my eyes
    you're gone...

    I'm a big big girl
    in a big big world
It's not a big big thing if you leave me
but I do do feel that
I to to will miss you much
    miss you much...
    I'm a big big girl
    in a big big world
It's not a big big thing If you leave me
but I do feel I will miss you much
    miss you much...

She wipes the tears from her eyes as she sighs and turns away, leaving her room, closing her door behind her.

"It is this story that has forever changed my life, and no matter what has happened, and no matter what will happen, I will never forget Roberta or any of the minutes we shared together. She will always hold a place in my heart."
